Help! Could DDs dermatitisreally cause this much swelling?

we have been told Dd has seborrheic dermatitis, she had it a few years ago on her scalp and we managed to get rid of it with special shampoo. This time it has come back in her eyebrows and is causing yellowing skin that is flaky and itchy. It’s also spreading slightly beyond her eyebrows. This was the only issue until we went to the pharmacy about 2 weeks ago and they gave us an anti fungal cream to treat it. A couple of days after using the cream DD started to wake up with her eyes a little swollen and stuck together. We took her to the Gp who said nothing to worry about it was just that she needed different cream and gave us a steroid one. We’ve been using that, not that we can see much difference with the skin, but the swelling is getting so much worse, her eyelids are now really swollen and are starting to go a purpley colour, under her eyes is swollen and red and this morning she sounds all blocked up like she has a cold. The swelling looks like it’s now affecting her sinus regions. Could this all be from dermatitis? The dr didn’t seem concerned when we saw them but surely the swelling shouldn’t be getting worse everyday?

When I developed seborrheic dermatitis first in my eyebrows and then around my eyes, GP treatment didn’t seem to be helping so I asked for dermatology referral and used work benefit to go private. It turned out to be allergic. It got worse before it improved, and took a long time to clear up, even after my triggers were identified through patch testing.

she needs referring to a pediatric dermatologist. Gps have a habit of “let’s wait & see” and it sounds like your little one is really struggling. I’d stop the steroid cream as they can cause awful withdrawal if used for a long time, another things gps don’t tell you!

maybe try antihistamines to see if it helps in the meantime, maybe she’s allergic to the cream? i wouldn’t keep using if the swelling is getting worse.
