At night ... crisp clean cool sheets, cuppa tea and some tele! Is it sad that it's arguably the best part of my day 😂. Late 40s work full time and teenage DC

I’m with you 100% on this!! Clean bedding, clean pyjamas, cup of tea, book, 9pm latest! It’s absolute bliss!

abracadabra1980 · 15/04/2026 21:01

I'm love it so much I am actually thinking of getting a convertible sofa/bed in my living room. After years of kids and exH's, I bloody love my own space where I can do what I like when I like. I often get up late, have an afternoon rest, and am back in bed by 8.30pm. I just find my bed so much more comfy than the sofa.

whistlesandbells · 15/04/2026 21:02

It is one of the great pleasures. I love it!

TheIceBear · 15/04/2026 21:12

Aw stop. Nothing like it . It’s even better if you have been away somewhere on holidays and come back. Or have been at a festival. Or have returned from hospital.. etc

rightoguvnor · 15/04/2026 21:17

I work nights and when I finish my last night shift I deliberately stay up all day and put fresh sheets on the bed, just so that I can get into it at 8pm, there’s nothing like it. Even at this time of year when there is still some light outside - getting into that fresh bed feeling really tired, bloody amazing, and I get to spend the next 10 hours there!

I like getting in any time of day.

FettleOfKish · 15/04/2026 21:26

To add, DS still naps in the day and on my days off with him I love slipping into bed for an afternoon nap too. I dread the day he drops them (hopefully if he takes after me and DH both in loving our sleep then it’ll be a while).

TheeNotoriousPIG · 15/04/2026 21:37

My favourite time to go to bed is on my last day before my weekend off work! Clean sheets, soft pyjamas, the shutters and curtains drawn, a lamp on, and whatever book I'm reading this week! Oh, and sometimes my laptop to watch things while I'm knitting...

Netcurtainnelly · 15/04/2026 21:45

Teddy Bear bedding is the best, so soft, so warm. Never mind getting in I have trouble getting up.

If I was rich I’d have clean bedding everyday and a member of staff to change it for me 😂

Oh, I’ve always said that, too!

I wonder if some of the persnickety Royals have a clean bed every night?
( I bloody would! )

I had a lovely clean bed on Monday night, I’d got it all dried in the sunshine on the line, and ironed the pillowcases, its my favourite set, and there was a definite “aaahh” of joy when I got in!

I have an electric under-blanket that I leave in place all year round… it’s lovely if you are poorly or feeling tired and creaky. Sometimes I just use it to warm my feet 🙂 I just swap the quilts over for a summer one this time of year.

One of life’s little pleasures.

Sasha07 · 15/04/2026 21:48

Tea before bed for me. I love going up, shower, teeth, do my moisturising etc then that's me settled. It would do my head in to get all cosy and comfy then have to get up to brush my teeth 😁 I love my bed because it signifies everything is done for the day. If I sit downstairs, I always end up finding something that needs done!

Same lol

And same here!

Mine used to laugh in his sleep… quite scary when you’re woken by laughter in the darkness!

toddlertoenail · 15/04/2026 21:50

I especially love getting into bed on a Thursday night as my cleaning lady has been and changed the sheets / made the bed up ‘just so’ it’s one of my very few indulgences 😍

Cocktailglass · 16/04/2026 01:04

Sorry but no, not the type of person who even thought about bedding at this age. Washed, clean, a prerequisite but not an indulgement.

Bed was a place to sleep in when younger, not a dwell in, watch crap TV.

notatinydancer · 16/04/2026 01:48

Favourite place in the world 🛌

One of the best things about nights is going home to bed when everyone else is just starting work, especially when it’s cold and rainy.

WWomble · 16/04/2026 01:51

Fresh sheets, double gauze blankets and YouTube whilst the cat snuggles in - bliss, hard to get up in the morning!

You don't have to watch "crap" TV, dear.

Lifeissodifficult · 16/04/2026 02:40

I am COMPLETELY with you. I look forward to it SO much . Im glad im not the only one.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 16/04/2026 02:42

Best part of the day !!

ThatFairy · 16/04/2026 02:43

I absolutely love getting onto bed, the earlier the better. I like waking up when it's still dark as well. Unfortunately I'm having a bout of night- time insomnia atm

Kneenightmare · 16/04/2026 03:49

Was just thinking exactly the same at 6.55pm when I went up to bed with a cup of tea and spent the evening reading. Such a relief after a horrible day at work. However now can’t sleep so need to try and stay up longer tomorrow.
