when I read posts with great detail I get a wave of anxiety for that person incase somehow that person they are talking about sees the post and knows it’s them !! Am I crazy ? Haha. The chances of them seeing the post is slim but imagine !!

It's common to change details where they don't materially change the point of the post. Things like ages, number and sex of children if not relevant; your aunt might become your neighbour, even the situation itself might be changed to something analogous.

Plus, of course, people name change for outing posts, so if they are identified, no one can go digging.

It's always worth keeping in mind. I realised I knew a poster on here (local friend of a friend) who was going into very personal sexual and relationship detail about herself. It was one of those threads where more and more info was pouring out, a bit like an ask me anything re sexual preferences. It felt a bit weird if ever i then saw her in shops or with kids etc!

I don't get anxiety but I do sometimes cringe when a very unprofessional 'manager', posts chapter and verse about one of their reports at work.

I just feel there's no need for it and if spotted by the employee, they could end up in a lot of trouble.

I always assume those are either made up completely or a colleague pretending they’re the manager!

@mumofb2 I don’t get anxious. Any detail I add to my posts would be info I’d quite happily say to their face.
