Swimsuits in shops but not much in summer clothes

I am looking for long shorts/cropped trousers for my holiday end of this month. Loads of swimwear, short shorts (have varicose veins) but very little in summary cropped trousers. I want them loose/relaxed.

Never had this problem a couple of years ago when I went on holiday a similar time of the year

Surely more people wear shorts than swimwear on holiday? I don’t swim and also whatever is in most swimwear I am allergic to as get rashes

BTW I’m a size 18/20

I go straight to Next and Yours on line now, don’t bother with shops.

M&S, next, Tu, Uniqlo all have knee length shorts. Seasalt have some cropped trousers as do M&S. I’ve been finding plenty to buy for holidays.

Matalan is full of summer wear atm.

I’d recommend online, lots of shops have cut back on their smaller sizes and plus sizes in store (is 18/20 counted as plus size? Sorry, not sure and not intending to be rude, I’ve just seen a lot of plus size instagrammers recently calling out a lot of shops because they don’t carry a full range of sizes anymore which may be why you’re struggling in store).
It’s annoying though, I went to Uniqlo recently and wanted to try on some trousers in the longer length and they said I’d have to order them online as they don’t hold the stock in store anymore.
also, have you tried vinted etc? Plenty of people looking to refresh their own summer wardrobes at the moment and selling things they no longer wear so you might find what you want on there. Good luck op!
