AIBU to ask about medical menopause

Due to endometriosis, extremely painful periods, and pain throughout the month, I have not long had my first injection of decapeptyl. This is to basically switch off my ovaries and induce medical menopause. I have also been given hrt patches (oestrogen and progesterone) to help with symptoms.

I was advised that things would get worse before they got better, and that I would end up in a flare.

I've had a tiny bit of spotting but the pain is unreal. I can only describe it as if my ovaries are on fire. I'm also getting a very heavy cramping feeling as if my period is about to start.

I knew to expect this but would be interested to hear of anyone who has experience of this, and how things turned out.
