My next door neighbours have three dogs. Two are silent but one in particular barks every single day without fail. I'm on annual leave for the first time in six months and hoping to chill and maybe read but no chance of doing that in silence. The barking can start from 7am in the garden and last anything until 11pm. As well as the barking, I can here one neighbour shouting at the dog when it barks and at one when it wees in the house. The walls are thin but surely I deserve peace and quiet? I'm on alert all the time and working from home is a nightmare. If I'm presenting online for a meeting and the barking starts, it puts me off my stride. The barking is loud and makes me jump.
When I've been in a meeting previously, to my shame I've shouted through the walls to shut the dog up and they did keep it quiet. All day, so they can.
The dog barks at anything that goes past too or any vehicle that pulls up. The stupid thing is they let the dog sit in the window.
The barking isn't constant but it is every day without fail and usually no longer than half an hour between barks, but more like less than ten minutes when it's through the day.
I did try to speak to them but they were going out and wouldn't engage. I'm sure they know how bad it is from my ashamedly shouting through the wall.
The other day I was trying to nap as I was ill with a chronic condition but I was woken three times by the dog. I always think how I could never have a night shift as sleeping through the day would be impossible!
Their reaction to the dog barking is shouting at it which I don't think is ever going to work.
I'm fed up.
