To believe Trump/US will agree to rebuild Iran, as long as American companies profit?

DH and I were watching the news and discussing this and he said the US would never agree to spend billions to rebuild Iran. I told him with what we’ve seen of Trump’s modus operandi so far, he will make sure it benefits him and his paymasters, whether they are outside influences or if he’s just guided by his own greed. I believe they will agree to rebuild Iran… as long as American companies reap all the profits. It’s just Venezuela all over again - destroy a country and then design the rebuilding to enrich American companies and Trump himself.

Note: Iran was never building nuclear weapons so for part of Iran’s “peace plan” to include that they won’t seek nuclear weapons is 100% optics so that the US can say they “won” and “stopped Iran having a nuke.” Ffs.

Oh and behold - Trump has just announced the “US and Iran will work together.” Yep, and all the money will flow into US coffers. Never thought we’d see someone use the US presidency to make themselves a billionaire while in office, but here we are. The checks and balances in the US only work if a politician is sane, and someone enforces them.

Whatever he thinks is going to happen probably won’t end up happening. This is far from over. He just took the world to the brink, and I hope that won’t be forgotten. I don’t think it will.

I really hope you’re right. My Uber driver was saying how insane it is that one man can cause a worldwide nightmare like this (after he couldn’t get gas at 3-4 different large service stations).
