Adverts should make you want to buy things not make your blood temp rise (its not boiling yet), it might be if I'm on here a lot today.

Currently a Fisher Price advert keeps interrupting me reading and posting.

It's a little girl vacuuming, going under chairs with the vac etc. Then she shows a woman, I assume her mother, that there is a duster in the vac and then she goes off dusting.

In 2026 why are we reenforcing sexist stereotypes?

YABU - lots of little girls like to play housekeeping
YANBU - adverts like this can get in the bin

I agree OP.

I think it's really worrying that there are so many steps backwards these days to the old days when it comes to stereo typing. I couldn't believe a thread recently that was about how apparently some women refer to "blue jobs" and "pink jobs" - it's like returning to the 1950s.
