Infant’s scooter on Jet2 flight instead of buggy

We are flying tomorrow with Jet2. Wanted to take a foldable scooter instead of a buggy. Will that be acceptable or will we have to pay extra? Has anyone done this before? Thanks in advance!

Might’ve been better to think about this before now 🤣

Doesnt it fit in the case?

I can’t imagine this panning out. A buggy is allowed because it’s to transport a baby. You can’t just say ‘well I’ll take bagpipes because I’m not going to use a buggy’. Most people don’t take a buggy so they can allow people who need one to take one. If everyone was allowed to take a scooter instead because they didn’t need a buggy the h hood would be full to the brim

You will be charged.

Bit late now, but do you have one of those travel car seat bags? We’ve taken all sorts in one of those and never been charged extra. Last time we didn’t even have a car seat in - just a booster, toddler back carrier, beach tent, pool noodle, nappies etc etc. you’d absolutely get away with a scooter in one of those.
That was EasyJet though.

I don’t think this is a fair comparison. Most airlines allow a number of pieces of child luggage if traveling with under 5s, including car seats, travel cots, buggies, carriers etc. I think as long as you’re not taking more than the allowed number and they are for your children, why would it matter what items make your life easier?

I don't think it will class as additional to your other luggage like a buggy would. Can't you just stick it in a suitcase? Or a carrier bag and take it on as hand luggage?

Good to know the mixed reviews! I don’t think we’ll risk it. Just wanted to know if anyone else had tried it. Think we’ll just buy a cheap one there and leave our buggy and scooter at home. Thank you for your feedback everyone! 🙏

We always pack the night before and no sooner so unfortunately not! 😂

Call the airline and ask?
