AIBU to feel awkward after partner's comment in front of friends?

This is probably me overthinking things..but here goes anyway. Is this rude to say in front of your partner?

DP had his friends over yesterday, I had plans to go the gym and meet my friend.

I was still here when the friends turned up, said hello/small talk etc.

DP turns to me and says ‘your arse isn’t going to grow sat there’. Then tells his friends ‘April is trying to get a big bum’.

They didn’t really say anything. It just felt awkward….

He sounds rude and crude and disrespectful.

A man who loves, likes and respects you would not make such a comment. He wanted you to feel bad.

I would be very cautious about remaining in a relationship with such a person.

I don't think you are overthinking this at all OP.

If that's the way he talks to you and about you to his friends while you are actually there it doesn't take much imagination to guess how he talks about you and women on general with his friends when you aren't there.

He doesnt have any respect for you.
He wanted to make you look ridiculous to get a laugh out of his friends.

So he was showing off in front of his friends by putting you down and making you feel uncomfortable, which he will probably label as ‘banter’
He needs to grow the fuck up and you need to let him know that you won’t have him
talk about you like that again, especially in front of others!
