AIBU to think I can’t alone in re-embracing the joy of GIGS

I’ve had enough of this virtual world we live in and I’ve started going to gigs again. My kids are teenagers and I can leave them at home easily now, it’s so liberating!!! Just wondering if anybody is the same, I’m going to see James this week and can’t wait to see- anybody else embracing the joy of live music??

Yes, but have done for years tbh - we just took the DDs with us as long as they were of the age limit (lots are ok for young teens). We also accompanied them to live gigs of their own choosing until they were old enough to go in their own. Lots of hours spent listening to awful stuff like Why Don’t We 🤣 - and then hours and hours spent waiting outside the stage door because they wanted to see them come out. Also musicals and theatre. In fact it’s where we spend the most amount of our expendable money now. Since starting our own business it’s got harder to have two or more weeks off on holiday so we do gigs and musicals (and the odd festival) instead. Love it 😊

Yes love a good bit of live music, nothing like it! I'm 60 and still love a festival

Did a lot a few years ago but can't be bothered now. The last couple I went to were underwhelming for the cost and hassle involved

We're doing the same. My husband goes to about 2 gigs a month and I probably do 1 every 4-6 weeks. Saw James in Bristol and Birmingham in the last 10 days. They were great so have fun!

We've never stopped although we're a bit more selective these days, partly because of ridiculous costs of some tickets. OH is always convinced we'll be the oldest at any gig, I dont care if we are. We're mid /late 60s.

Never stopped!
