Rash

My daughter is prone to eczema, usually just the back of her legs, but the last few days this rash has appeared at the top of her legs and all around the pubic area. Could this be eczema too maybe? If I put any cream on it it stings even more and burns. The photos don’t justice to quite how red the rash is. Anything I put on it seems to irritate it further. My daughter is 9. Thank you.

I’d get her to the doctors to have it checked out just to be on the safe side.
sorry she’s uncomfortable. hopefully she’s managing to get some rest.

A rash in that area that stings and burns with cream applied could be a few things, eczema, contact dermatitis or even a fungal irritation. The location and the reaction to cream suggests it may be worth getting a second opinion rather than self treating.

A few gentle things in the meantime, stop all creams until you know what it is, switch to fragrance free washing powder if you haven't already, and make sure her underwear is 100% cotton as synthetic fabrics in that area are a very common hidden irritant.

If it is not improving in 48 hours I would push for an urgent GP appointment or photograph it and send via the NHS app for a quicker response.
Hope she feels better soon 🙏🏽
