AIBU to guess the number of OP posts before clicking See all?

to think that before you click the 'See all' button to see the OPs posts, you guess how many posts there will be?

Have never done that but I will now 😆

Boredom. They like to post some fictional inflammatory scenario and sit back and watch the angry people respond.

Well yes, there is one poster (a serial namechanger so no point reporting, they just return...) who plops a question and then buggers off. I can guess who it is from the thread title (they have a couple in active atm for eg- about houses). So my guess for them is always '1' (and then I hide the thread!).

I always check to see if the OP is responding to posters. If not, why waste time writing a reply. We all have busy lives so why should we waste our time giving advice and opinions to an OP who can't be bothered to engage with posters. Haven't tried guessing the number of Op replies before now @BikeShmike , but I'll try that from now on!

@champagnetrial I know what you mean, this sort of poster is so annoying. There's a frequent poster here, who namechanges for every new thread she starts (very easy to recognise despite the name changes). She doesn't engage if the thread isn't going her way, never seems to take on board the advice she's been getting on all her numerous threads, just keeps coming back under a new name with the same issues over and over.

If the OP hasn't replied you won't get the 'See next ' option so you don't need to click the See all button to know that they haven't replied.

Invariable if it reads like goady bollocks it'll be zero

I always check how many especially if there’s loads of comments. Drives me mad that others don’t and reply to the OP.

Ah that feels better getting it off my chest!!

I just watch threads I'm interested in then check back - so many have a few hundred replies and no response from Op after days so I delete them. I have noticed a particular name posting on nearly every thread which I find odd (I've been here years and never notice names), wondered if MN were paying to respond to posts 😂
