I need to loose weight and no matter how much I just aim To eat healthily and exercise more i just don't do it. So I'm looking in online support apps/groups.

I need something to help motivate me keep me on track. So am thinking of slimming world online - anyone used it successfully? Its not cheap £60 for 3 months to sign up so I'd love others views. (Many years ago I did real life slimmg word groups and found it pretty good but can't go to real groups for lots of reasons currently.) Or any better alternative.

I know ideally all the motivation should come from me. But life is difficult and at the moment with a very unwell child and I just keep gaining weight.

Sorry, just jumping in to say I’m looking for the same!

Watching with interest. I train 3-4 times a week , bit overweight ( ever since I hit 50 I struggle with weigh loss). Would like to do something about it. Mainly because of joint pain , because I’m happy with the way I look .

I’ve been following it online for a couple of months and have lost just over two stone so far. The groups were not my thing at all

be aware. You may lose weight with SW but will
you keep it off long term

you may find you put it all back and more

That’s the same with any diet.

I lost around 2st on Slimming World years ago, but I did not enjoy the group sessions at all, which is why I stopped going once I was at target, and why right now I am on a diet. I put on loads of weight over lockdown, and was unhappy about that, but in January a health scare gave me the kick up the bum I needed to do something about it. I joined Slimming World online, and have been losing weight at a steady and sensible 1-2lbs a week. As a pp pointed out, it’s no use dieting then putting it all - and more!- back on again, so this time I propose weighing myself weekly and basically sticking to the Slimming World plan forever, which is what Slimming World recommend. Hopefully the health scare will be enough to keep me in line, since vanity did not.
In summary, I’d recommend Slimming World, both the group and online versions. It works!

I suggest doing something like nutracheck. I find i am more conscious by just writing down everything I eat.
Don't go by their calories though (they set ridiculous low targets) write down your normal diet and see what you are gaining or losing and go from there
SW and WW can be very inflexible and unhealthy.

Yes but slimming world is specifically designed to fail. It teaches you poor relationships with food (no food is a “sin”) so you put it back on again, go back and give them more money. Rinse and repeat.
