I'm thinking of swapping my morning walking commute for a morning swim instead
If you swim daily, is it good exercise?

I’ve really dropped off with my swimming this year but last year I swam in the outdoor pool at my club throughout the year. I’d be there in the dark or cold with the steam coming off the water - it was great. Such a fantastic feeling when you get out. ( i do a mix of front crawl and breast stroke and my heart rate remains high throughout )

theres research on how incredible swimming is for you - mad stats about how much less likely you are to have heart issues even than other forms of exercisers. It’s the best for cardio-vascular health. It works out all parts of your body/muscles at once - it’s both resistance training and cardio at the same time.

Only it does burn fewer cals (breast stroke anyway) than brisk walking, I think. So depends what you’re wanting - all round work out for health or mainly for calorie burning. Might want to keep that in mind if you switch and are trying to lose weight.
