AIBU to feel grateful that my hard work paid off?

I love my new job. I just feel so happy but don’t want to be braggy to anyone, particularly to those who might not be so lucky.

I worked really hard to get the job I have got now. Lots of training, lots of time apart from my kids etc. It really was hard to gain the skills needed, and then I needed a company to take a chance on me, and thank god that’s happened!!

Im now working full time, from home. The team I work with are all lovely, and we chat lots via our laptops, through the day.

I start at my start time, and finish at my finish time (for the most part).

I have more time with my kids, and I’m being paid more than I was.

I feel so lucky and grateful that my hard work has paid off and I now feel like my life is so easy compared to how it was.

Hopefully I am not BU to share this with you all. Life just seems better, and I am so glad I spent the hours and years working hard, to get here!

So good to read a positive post.
Hard work really does pay off. Well done, you deserve it.

You should feel really proud of yourself. I’ve never been inclined to push myself work wise, I’m still very happy to have my job, enjoy it, nice hybrid mix, work is varied and it pays well - I’m always in awe of very career motivated people (regardless of the pay, some people train very hard in niche careers, not because they are well paid but because they are passionate about their area of expertise). Massive well done to you, determination and your sacrifices have really come to fruition and I love hearing about it 💐

With all the IT layoffs recently due to AI, I'm happy you have a role you're happy in OP. Well done.
