Work colleague hard work

I work as a cleaner in a small hotel/pub.
there’s a cleaning team of 3, myself and 2 others
one is an older woman who has been there the longest.
she can be very in your face and generally talks the hind legs of a donkey.

i have had to report her twice for contacting me outwith working hours over work issues (told when started this shouldn’t happen)

I was asked to become “head cleaner” and start doing linen orders etc… she seems to have become almost jealous of this and has been ranting to me in and outwith work about how I’ve not ordered enough x y and z and how we will run out.

today I spoke to manager who in turn spoke to her about contacting me outwith.

shes then took it upon herself to message in the work group chat and basically say whoever reported her has a cheek.

i couldn’t help myself and replied back politely explaining that if it was aimed at me the reason I spoke to the manager was to explains to her why why we don’t need the input of 2 people to do linen orders etc.

Aibu to be raging at her for being so petty?

Nightmare. Just tune her out. Blank expression, bland responses if any. Give her nothing to react to.

You’re being petty by keep running to your manager. If she’s telling you how much to order, just ignore her or by shutting her down “Janet, thank you for your opinion but I’ll be ordering what I think we need”.

Block her! Or at least mute her and tell her your phone's on the blink 😂

I feel it’s jealousy on her part and trying so hard not to lay down to the pettiness

It’s constant messaging phoning out of hours, 5.30 in morning some mornings messaging, this seemingly happened to the last person who was there who ended up walking, I was told if contact is to much to go to management as she had previous warnings

Yes I agree that’s not on. But be firm and tell her you don’t want her opinions and she should go and speak to management if she has an issue, not you.

Are you in Sheffield by any chance?

work group chat can you mute it when you’re not in work?

5 am phone calls - can you block her?

Or is it useful ammunition that the bosses are after to sack her?
