To ask if there are any pensions lawyers here?

I’m a trainee solicitor at a city firm. Currently in pensions and really enjoying it. I have been approached by a few recruiters re NQ pensions roles and am thinking seriously about it. Initially I was interested in qualifying into employment but understanding is that there are just too many candidates looking to do the same. AIBU to ask if you’re a pensions solicitor and - if so - do you enjoy it?!

Not a pensions lawyer but it's probably a bigger growth area than employment. At some firms pensions and employment will be run together.
In house probably easier from an employment role than pensions.
As an NQ, in the current market, I'd be taking a job.
I qualified back in like, 2008 and none of the departments I wanted were really taking trainees. Banking was crashing, property was stagnant and I took a role in something else. It's less about the type of work, it's all pretty crap at the end of the day.

I was on the in-house legal team at a major pensions consultancy - altho' I was not not a solicitor. Those of us that were qualified seemed to enjoy the work and regarded it as a better area to work in than many others. It was interesting, varied, had none of the pressures of working in a magic circle firm and given the long-term nature of pensions, seemed to have fresh work coming in for a long time to come. In addition, there was also the possibility of promotion to management (i.e. outside the legal team).

If I were you I'd go for it.
