This is what I’ve eaten over the last 7 days.
Does this seem like too much food to you or not a lot of food?
Female 5 foot 2.

Day 1

4 egg omelette with 2 pork chops and red pepper, sweet corn.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts spread out and picked on over the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 2

3 chicken thighs and 2 chicken legs with some veg.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts picked on throughout the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 3
4 egg omelette and pack of prawns, sweetcorn and spinach.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g bag of Mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 4
Half a roast chicken picked at.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheese and half a packet of 200g nuts to pick throughout the day.
5 cups of decaf coffee.

Day 5
4 fried eggs, mushrooms, an avocado, tomatoes and bacon.
Snacks - half a pack of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 6
500g diced beef fried with red pepper and mushrooms.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 7
1 Tin of tuna and salad.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half packet of 200g mixed nuts.
1 bottle of white wine.

2 fillets of salmon with green beans, broccoli and red pepper.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g packet of nuts.
5 cups of decaf coffee.
1 bottle of white wine.

I have used the term half a pack instead of (450g) cheese and 100g nuts because I thought people would be able to imagine a 900g block of cheese and 200g pack of nuts easier as that’s how they come.
Does this sound like too much food or not enough food please?
I typically eat one meal a day in the morning and pick on cheese and nuts sporadically for the rest of the day.
This is because I need to eat until I’m full or I will still feel hungry after so I eat a big main meal first thing as it works for me and I feel full.
The cheese and nuts are because of a craving for cheese. I love my cheese.

thats a lot of cheese, I would be really poorly if I ate that much every day.
I’m not British. It doesn’t seem like you’re sitting down and enjoying your food very often. Why are you only having one big meal a day?

Maybe stop yes. It's clear the OP has an eating disorder.

Stop what?
if she’s got an eating disorder she’ll just go on chatgtp or proana or some other echo chamber.
she sounds very in need of medical support I do agree with you though.

ProfessorBinturong · 31/03/2026 21:45

it shows that OP can be very focused and on the right diet plan, she certainly has the right stamina and focus to succeed

No. She's not eating masses of protein because of focus and stamina; she's eating it because she has very little idea of nutrition and spends the entire day snacking on nuts and cheese that she doesn't actually want to eat.

Stop criticising her. Good for you if you don't have an eating issue but she clearly has - what relevance does it have that you aren't British?

No it’s not clear, what’s clear is she has limited nutrional knowledge.

‘I’m really shocked at the people diagnosing her. I’m used to seeing people rushing in to diagnose people’s neuro diverse, but this is something else.

Ok. Someone eats one meal a day and stuffs themselves to bits the rest of the time on nuts and cheese - that's not a lack of nutritional knowledge. It's completely disordered eating. Ps. I have nutrition qualifications. I'm not just coming from a standpoint of no experience

This. Yes there’s disordered eating but you don’t know what’s causing it. is she stressed and not having time to eat proper meals? Does she just not know? Does she need recipe ideas to help her spread the cheese out further (recipes with cheese and nuts, she seems to love this)? You’re not her. Why are you silencing her?

As a ( 1.83m) 6ft male weighing (76kg) 167 lbs, reasonably active, walking 10 miles a day, weight session twice a week, cycling once a week, I average 2300 calories a day.
You almost achieve that in cheese alone. The following are near enough values.

450g cheese 2200 calories.
200g nuts 1200 calories
4 x chicken leg and thighs 1240 calories
2 thick pork chops 900 calories
500g beef mince 1300 calories
1 bottle white wine 600 calories. (700cc x 12%)/1000 = 8.4 units alcohol

How’s your weight. Gaining? - you should be unless you’re incredibly active.
Are you younger or older? That affects calorie burn slightly. Weight loss medicines?

Given the approximate 1600-2000 calories a day for a woman, your calorie intake is way over that. I’d also be concerned about fat intake.
Even if you are not feeling the effects of this diet now, I think it will catch up with you

Wow, do you're 6ft and only 11.5 stone?....skinny then

Blueshoey484 · 31/03/2026 22:55

All the smug faces out in force. I run 22 miles a day and eat a crisp bread will be the next post

JeepersItsTheKraken · 31/03/2026 23:04

It sounds like you are doing keto or paleo, is that right? I have to second the concern over the cheese, its high in cholesterol and not good for you in that amount.

If you enjoy this way of eating but would like it to be more balanced, find a good book on keto or paleo. If this was true keto you would be losing weight, which it doesn't sound like you are.

You may be someone who is satiated better with fats, which is why your body is craving cheese and nuts. There are healthier fats to be eating, like olives and avocados which don't contain cholesterol.

The chicken and fish are great sources of protein, but the red meat is too much and in too large a portion which again is not grest for cholesterol. Could you mix some Quorn mince or lentils in with the beef mince to halve the quantity of red meat?

ProfessorBinturong · 31/03/2026 23:31

Very wrong. I suggest you read the OPs posts.

Hate to say it but one days worth of food for you, is more than I can afford for a week for me! lol, Honestly, if you're not overweight and actually hungry enough to eat it then that is right for you

Greengagesnfennel · 31/03/2026 23:57

I am addicted to cheese. i also have a bad habit of snacking on it every day. It is the only thing I have never managed to give up even when I try. (Well maybe crisps are also pretty challenging)

As a fellow addict I suggest Wotsits as a substitute during the weaning yourself off it phase (or at least lowering the quantity of cheese). Wotsits are woefully unhealthy but it’s like using nicotine patches - they are the only thing I have found that helps the cheese craving and can fool my brain that I am getting what I crave. Good luck! It is hard.

No. You're the person who said you couldn't afford to eat what she does - you're the unkind person when someone is clearly struggling with their weight. Don't try and turn your snide comment back on me. Hth

I am poor by the way - but I'm not shaming someone for their food choices unlike you

Are you trying to do a low carb diet or keto? This sounds fine to me as long as you ditch the wine as it's going to cause you appetite issues. Id also choose either the cheese or the nuts. Both are probably a bit much. There are a lot of calories in both. I only eat once a day as well, ive been OMAD for the best part of 2 decades. The alcohol is going to make you really hungry and it's going to really spike your blood sugar whereas all the rest of those foods are quite low carb which will reduce your appetite over time. If you're doing this all the time make sure you're replacing electrolytes as you're not eating enough carbs to hold onto water. Salt and magnesium. Google the amounts you need. Then you won't have any flu symptoms.
Source: been eating this way for donkeys years. Went from 15st to 9st and improved my whole life.

fairylightsanon · 01/04/2026 00:42

I have issues with food and find it easier to look at adding things, rather than taking away
so I upped my fibre to try and hit 30g a day. Honestly by the time I had done that, I was too full to actually snack or eat the wrong stuff
everyone says about protein but for me I find fibre more satiating
