Bless you, I’ve been there. Try not to worry too much; most people recalled don’t have cancer x

ShittyGlitter · 30/03/2026 09:41

Seconding that it is more often than not good news.

Whats the plan for the rest of the day? Any nice treats planned?

JeepersItsTheKraken · 30/03/2026 09:46

Is there a cafe near the site? My hospital has a Costa, and after anything scary I like to go for a latte and something sweet (I'm addicted to their easter chocolate cornflake cakes!)

DilemmaDelilah · 30/03/2026 11:01

Good luck.

Usernamechanging · 30/03/2026 11:14

Take care. My turn on Thursday x

I am sure it will all be positive and they’re just being thorough

is there a cafe where you can go grab a coffee and some cake?

MilliM · 30/03/2026 11:23

I've been there. The biopsy hurts a bit on the day and for a week or so afterwards, so just be prepared.
They will tell you today whether they think they have seen cancer.

iamfedupwiththis · 30/03/2026 12:29

So I have an appointment to go back in one week.

The Consultant doesn't think it is cancer but cannot be certain.

Several years ago I went through all that and it was NOT cancer. It WAS a tumour and I had to have it removed, but it was NOT cancer. I barely have a scar now.

domenica1 · 30/03/2026 12:39

Thinking of you OP, consultant wouldn’t say that unless fairly confident of benign diagnosis but just being thorough.

Fushia123 · 30/03/2026 13:01

I have been in this position, and the waiting a week for more information is most definitely the hardest part. Try to plan to keep yourself busy if you can. Once you know what is going on you will feel more in control. Hang in there - you are at the hardest bit. Sending you love and strength.

LostThestral · 30/03/2026 13:05

It's just so scary, i've been there & had a biopsy after my mammogram call back. Very common after your first mammogram I believe as they have nothing to compare with.

Mine was all fine

middlenglander · 30/03/2026 13:54

I was in your position very recently and I know how you feel. Unfortunately it was DCIS for me, but no one told me it was probably benign - they hinted the opposite to be honest, so I think your chances are good.
