To be shocked at my friend's greed?

I had to meet someone for lunch today and ds6 was off school ill.
I asked a friend who has a son in ds's class to look after him at my house and she agreed.
So she turns up with her toddler twins and I leave 10 mins late after showing her where things are for lunch etc.
I was back a bit later than expected but was totally shocked to find nearly a whole loaf gone!
She ate all of my fruit and still accepted when I sarcastically offered her a biscuit!!
She is quire overweight and obviously over eating.
Should I mention something?

Oh johnso you are amusing.

I wish you would start threads more often, they keep me highly entertained.

SmugColditz · 18/06/2008 17:03

Yes, Janos, because I'm hoping they shat on her pillow.

LadyK · 18/06/2008 17:04

Considering what I would have to pay for a babysitter so I could go to lunch, I think you got off easy. Do you really begrudge her some bread and fruit when you asked her to look after your sick child while you go out, and come back late, while she's been looking after 3 children?

Yes, YABU.

Kewcumber · 18/06/2008 17:04

how long was she there. If it was only an hour it woudl have been cheaper to pay your new cleaner to come over, if it was 2 hours or more depending on the quality of fruit and size of loaf she may still have been the most economical approach.

and kettle springs to mind www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2724&threadid=548733#11204606!

Off now to watch my children eat the side of a house for tea. It's sooo inconvenient that they want feeding all the time.....

Saymyname · 18/06/2008 17:06

Johnso you big fat troll, are you still going? Got bored of making up stories about your husband did you?

Guadalupe · 18/06/2008 17:07

Wow, not many mumsnetters have six sons do they? That's quite impressive.

LOL@Colditz.

2point4kids · 18/06/2008 17:15

Johnso, you only ever start joke threads dont you?
Do you not have anything genuine to say?

jojosmaman · 18/06/2008 17:16

I am intrigued, did she have fruit sandwiches or just dry bread with some fruit on the side? Or maybe it was toast, did you check your butter levels before you left? I am guessing that the fat cow would have devoured your jam as well, go and check quick.. oh and please let us know how you get on.

NigellaTheUndomesticGoddess · 18/06/2008 17:17

I don't think it is unreasonable. if it was a huge waitrose organic type loaf the size of a cayman and a whole bowl of tropical orgainc pineapples.
also if she was overweight you'd have thought she would have stuck to plain tap water too.

VictorianSqualor · 18/06/2008 17:18

jojosmam, I reckon she made jam with the fruit, and used that.

A whole brie, a bunch of grapes and a packet of biscuits too!!!
The biscuits were in the 45 minutes she spent here after I had arrived. She didn't go home, just sat there as she said I live nearer the school

jojosmaman · 18/06/2008 17:27

A whole Brie? What a heifer. Did she spread the brie on the bread then? What kind of bread was it? If it was a milk roll i don't think that would have been very satisfying/ tasty so that's why she probably moved on the the grapes and biscuits. I'd have it out with her before she does this to someone else.

ComeOVeneer · 18/06/2008 17:27

But stuffing your face with dh's choccies isn't greed

claricebeansmum · 18/06/2008 17:28

When you say a whole brie do you mean a wedge or a whole round?

johnso · 18/06/2008 17:30

A whole round!
And I have just noticed that me crisps are missing
