I went to XXX High School, which has been called that since 1948. In Scotland people seem to always talk about high school rather than secondary.

Edited - OP I was at High School in the 1990s and have never heard those words.

FYI - According to google the term 'High School' originated in Scotland with the earliest recorded reference being from 1505 in relation to the Royal High School in Edinburgh. America eventually adopted the term from Scotland.

I was in secondary 1996-2003 in south London and have never heard those words.
