AIBU to be surprised when a product is still good quality?

Bought some Foxes Glacier Fruits the other day for the first time in years.
They were exactly as I remembered. Full bag, sharp fruit taste, good assortment of the different fruit flavours.
I have got so used to shrinkflation, cheaper ingredients, changes in the recipes, that this was a complete surprise. And a very pleasant one at that.
It got me thinking. What other things are still surprisingly good in these times or cutting cost and substituting ingredients.
AIBU to be so surprised when something is still good?

Yes you are BU. Loads of things are still great and you shouldn't be surprised.

No you are not BU. Most things have gone to crap nowadays and it is a surprise when something is still good.

So much classic items have been improved(dicked about with)that to find something in its original state is getting rarer.

Recently had a four bar KitKat. That tasted the same as I remember them ... Hadn't had one for about 7-8 years.

They have reduced coco in them and increased palm olive to reduce costs. Definitely different ingredient ratios in last 5 years.

There's no need to get in a froth about it, though.

Wotsits are actually better than they were when I was a child. My breaktime snack back in the 80s when healthy lunchboxes were not a thing was a bag of beloved cheese Wotsits, which very often had a few disappointing over-puffed, under-flavoured and/or soft ones. Never happens now.

Coca Cola hasn't changed.

I think that's about it!

Not really surprising, but food in my local deli and the smoothies at my local organic juice bar never drop in quality, ever. And the juice bar at least hasn’t raised prices in over a year.
