What’s wrong with me, hospital clueless

elm26 · 26/03/2026 15:24

Yesterday at 1pm, I put my 6 month old on the rug with his toys and went for a wee.

As I was walking back I had a sudden severe pain in my right side radiating into my lower back and up to my shoulder, I was in agony.

I called DH who was luckily only on a job 15 mins away, he came straight home and took one look at me and called ambulance, I was shouting out in pain they gave me gas and air and morphine.

I had an emergency CT when dye last night and also have a catheter as lost the ability to wee. Nothing showed on CT, they got me settled on morphine and today I’ve had a transvaginal scan which shows ovaries and womb look normal.

Gynae can’t find a reason so they’ve stopped painkillers and just giving me paracetamol but somethings wrong I feel like somebody’s twisting my insides. The gynae consultant was horrible and said the surgical team will come see me if they think it’s worth it?? So I’m waiting for that if they come.

I’m in so much pain and genuinely scared they’ll send me home not knowing what is wrong with me.

Has anyone has anything similar?

I didn't use abusive speech or bad language, just expressed my opinion and it got deleted along with several others who expressed the same opinion as me...
I'm done with mumsnet now....

I suspect a lot of people agreed with you.

The low blood pressure is a red flag for a blood clot - someone mentioned it earlier. I had very similar symptoms last year, the first ambulance crew diagnosed a panic attack and told me to sleep it off. 3 hours later I was deteriorating, terrible pain in my chest and side, another ambulance crew called out, turned out I had a massive saddle pulmonary embolism and I was minutes away from death. Am ECG would be a good idea, I absolutely hate it when they fob you off, if you're anxious anyway you tend not to want to 'make a fuss'. Do keep us updated x

You're taking it far too personally. The talk guidelines are really clear - any questioning of authenticity of poster gets deleted.

Are you serious?
A person needs an operation and you talk about anxiety.
If you listen to the likes of Emma Barnett or Naga Muchetty they talk about their experiences of health services and not feeling heard.
All too often this is the case.
Look at maternity care too.

Widowwith2 · 29/03/2026 11:47

Thank you for explaining @wracky
I don't post often so wasn't aware of this guideline/rule.

wracky · 29/03/2026 12:05

agh they'll probably have to delete my post now for referencing that. Apologies!

Keepingittogetherstepbystep · 29/03/2026 12:10

Sorry to read your latest post. Once you've found out what's happened and are more lucid you need to raise a complaint as there's far too much of this type of treatment going on.

Just because someone's got anxiety doesn't mean there's isn't anything more serious going on.

It's so easy to say it's anxiety. I spent a lifetime being told it was all in my head until I nearly died in 2001.

Eightofus · 29/03/2026 12:21

I hope you are OK @elm26 it's really horrendous how you've been treated, you need to put in a complaint definitely! But first get yourself better and we'll rested, endo is awful! Wishing you a speedy recovery and hopefully you'll fund out what's going on soon 💐

Eightofus · 29/03/2026 12:22

Find out not fund 🤦‍♀️

I haven’t read anymore messages but quick update I got home and had a bath and collapsed in our bedroom, ambulance called I was sick again and screaming in pain I don’t remember a great deal other than my 3 year old screaming, being at hospital and being refused gas and air and morphine then I was on an operating table and I woke up 20 minutes ago on oxygen and all different machines. I’ve got 3 laparoscopic cuts and I’m bleeding vaginally. Nobody has spoke to DH either they called him at midnight to let him know I’m stable and on the ward and they’d talk to
us today and wouldn’t tell him anything over the find so now I’m really scared and confused from all the painkillers. My blood pressure is 83/42 and says 88 with oxygen.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, OP. When you're better, I seriously hope you put in a complaint for medical negligence and inappropriate behaviour from staff. They shouldn't get away with this because they've potentially caused your health to deteriorate.

I hope they have gotten to the bottom of this. A friend of mine has endometriosis and she had a burst cyst on her ovaries. It caused her to her to he in crippling, excruciating agony and had the same symptoms you are experiencing.

PurpleReindeer2 · 29/03/2026 12:39

So sorry OP. When you have recovered. Which I hope is soon, please raise an official complaint about how you have been treated. Sending you lots of love and hope you start to feel better soon xxx

hedgebets2 · 29/03/2026 12:41

It sounds like an endo surgery, I bled after mine because I had a tear from the uterus manipulation instrument
