What do you mean, ‘now’?! They’ve been doing this for years.

INX · 24/03/2026 18:49

Eh?

They've always done this, as do many other news sources.

I'm always puzzled by MNetters calling it 'lazy' journalism rather than modern journalism.

Or would you rather they went back to hanging around shopping centres with clipboards? 🤣

plims · 24/03/2026 18:51

They’ve done this for many years.

CraftyGin · 24/03/2026 18:52

Aren't the reporting on last night's Panorama? Maybe it's Panorama that is being repetitive.

cestlavielife · 24/03/2026 18:53

You only just noticed? Where you been?

Itsmetheflamingo · 24/03/2026 18:53

Chris it was boring enough reading it on mumsnet let alone an article about people posting on mumsnet about a tv programme

BillieWiper · 24/03/2026 18:54

Well yeah, that's kinda their thing. It was annoying that article though.

Like why would a part time entry level HR worker and a railway worker think it so shocking they can't afford to regularly spend £56 or whatever in Costa for them plus two kids of all places? Who even eats meals there?!

But yeah daily fail has stolen content from here since the beginning of time.

MNHQ also put the thread about it on Facebook.

It's like flicking a sticky piece of snot that won't go away 😁

Sorry, haven't seen this before- only people on MN referring to daily fail reporters stalking MN looking for articles to write/steal. Tbh I thought it was a myth..

Assuming you're a Daily Mail reader (because you've linked to what you were reading), I'm surprised you've not noticed it before.

Most tabloids have used MN in the past, as have some TV news programmes.

I read the Guardian, the Daily Fail, New York Times, Le Monde and Le Figaro. I like to keep it diverse to avoid confirmation biais.
