OnBuy selling counterfeit products.

AIBU to expect a seller on OnBuy, who’s been selling knock off skin care products, to follow through with their offer to refund?

OnBuy has always been Ok for me. Bought products which have been the genuine article, at a good price and quick delivery. I have bought some skincare products recently. As soon as I opened them, I could see the packaging was all wrong. I contacted the real manufacturer who confirmed it.

OnBuy seller was all apologies and said would refund. Three weeks later, no refund, no response to contact. It’s rubbish isn’t it? Shoddy copies of stuff and then no redress.

Am I unreasonable to expect OnBuy to be responsible for their sellers?

They definitely do sell fakes and YANBU for expecting a refund. I’ve sometimes been tempted by the lower prices, but avoided because of the adage ‘too good to be true.’

Never heard of OnBuy. I won’t even buy stuff like that from Amazon. Only reputable companies.

Onbuy is the new temu.

I really would not support this.
Its further supporting the creation of a chinese monopoly and long run its bad news for us / the economy.

I once bought a bottle of Versace crystal noir on onbuy. I knew it was fake but I didn't expect the actual perfume to be a copy of Versace bright crystal! The twat that sold it to me just said it was a labelling error. It wasn't it was the wrong perfume in the bottle. I never got a refund despite an angry email to them

Ok. That makes sense. The fake had Chinese writing all over it. I will never buy from them again. What a disgrace.

Thanks for the replies.

Don't buy skin care of perfume from temu/onbuy etc - you have no idea what lead or asbestos laced products you're applying to yourself. There's zero safety testing or oversight.

Thankfully, I didn’t use it. Didn’t even open the product. It was obviously fake.

Back to good old Holland & Barratt!
