I've finally convinced my GP to do the referral to discuss a subtotal hysterectomy, but I suspect they'll have no interest in actually doing one.

I think it's awful that women are put through years of pain and pointless surgeries/procedures before they finally concede that a hysterectomy can be done.

No regrets - I got my life back. Life had been one long bleed and endless pain.

Remember that you need calcium afterwards to prevent osteoporosis further down the line.

What in food or vitamins or? Xx

After 10 years of a grapefruit sized fibroid, pushing on everything it neighboured, anaemia, bleeding that ruled my life, over compensating trying to keep fit and being constantly knackered, it was brilliant. Back at work in a month, best I'd felt in a decade! Even the consultant was shocked at how quickly I'd recovered, but then I'd felt so crap for so long it was a relief.
