I have had years and years of severe acid reflux - that is what the doctors assume it is anyway - had some tests done over the years, some came back normal, some abnormal but they have just sort of left me to it. Tried every mediation under the sun for it.

Since January, I have had another severe flare up to the point where I am having violent coughing fits lasting all day, all night, it never ends. It is particularly bad after eating or drinking, and as a result, I have lost a few pounds (I only weighed 7st 10lbs to begin with).

I have an urgent endoscopy booked in for 2-3 weeks time, but the symptoms are becoming unbearable. My throat is red raw from the coughing, and I do not get respite from it at all, it is severely impacting on my quality of life at the moment. I cannot take any medication at the moment because of it impacting on the endoscopy results.

How would you handle this? I am 30 years old.

Have you spoken with your GP about how to get through next few weeks?

There is nothing they can really offer me because I have tried pretty much everything over the last few years
