Animal welfare issue - AIBU for wanting to report this?

We went to a theme park in the Midlands last weekend. Apart from the rides, they have “a farm” where they keep various animals and an indoor section with 2 big glass containers. In one there were two guinea pigs - they sit on wooden shavings, absolutely no food in there, not a piece of hay (which is 80% of their diet) nor fresh fruit or veg. No fresh water. Just two sad guinea pigs sitting still in a glass box.
in the second glass enclosure at first I didn’t see anything. But in the corner there was a small plastic cat/small pet carrier, and behind its closed door I saw a single guinea pig. Again, no food or water. No space to move around. This was honestly, one of the saddest things I’ve seen in a farm/zoo type of attraction and I can’t stop thinking about those poor creatures which are herd animals and need constant access to hay, water and vegetables. They have none of it at this horrific place! Where can I report this so that someone can actually do something so that these animals are properly taken care of?

You can report to the RSPCA or the animal welfare officer at the council. They must have a licence to keep the animals. Even better if you have photos for evidence.

Of course report it. I once reported a pet shop for keeping both sex guinea pigs together. Poor females had no where to escape to. And unsuspecting customers were def getting pregnant piggies.. Next visit they were actually separated.. You can get things changed for those poor animals...

Zoos in the UK have to be licensed by their local councils - they are supposed to check that the animal accommodation is fit for purpose - so that would be my starting point.

It does sound awful and would have upset me too.

I reported a pet shop that kept rabbits in appalling conditions. They were closed down.

Thank you! I’m not from the UK originally so wasn’t sure where to report. I took a picture so will be sending an email to RSPCA tomorrow morning. It’s not a zoo but they keep a fair amount of animals so I guess they do need a licence.

RSPCA and I’d also put on social media and leave a review on trip advisor. No animal should be without water ever, and they should know better.

Yes please report this, sounds awful. It’s good you have a photo. Places that keep animals in unsuitable conditions need to be pulled up about it. Thank you

Yes definitely report them. No way should piggies be kept in those conditions, poor things.
