Annoying Faces

Greyblankie · 16/03/2026 21:52

Watching telly earlier and DH said that a guy on TV had a very annoying face.

At weekend my mum said a certain politician had an annoying face.

I hear it all the time, how can a face be annoying? Expressions etc I get but a persons general face annoying?

I don’t get it either or what constitutes someone having an annoying face. It’s obviously subjective.

SerendipityCat · 16/03/2026 22:00

Do you mean to say you're not annoyed when you see Nigel Farage's smug gammon twat face on TV? You must be in the minority. Plenty of other annoying faces out there, Ant and Dec, Simon Cowell, James Corden, Piers Morgan...

Funnily enough it was Farage she was on about

Funnily enough I find some people positively hard to look at. Often people whose faces are too smooth and hairline too high, Jimmy Carr. The actor that played peewee Herman.

It’s a bit of uncanny valley feeling.

Nigel Farage’s face tends to look like a badly drawn caricature of Nigel Farage, but to be fair it probably is the micro-expressions that do it, as they flit effortlessly between golf club bore, end of pier “comedy” booking, office sex pest and braying ‘80s stockbroker.

StormySpanielz · 16/03/2026 23:00

Well clearly you are listing a load of arseholes which are clearly not pleasant to look at even in the best of times.

No one has ever articulated how I feel about farage in such a succinct way before 😂.

UnNiddeRides · 16/03/2026 23:11

I don’t like faces where the groove between nose & upper lip is quite flat & long. Farage has this & reminds me of a Simpson.
I have to turn off because I don’t like Donald Trump’s lip movements regardless of what he says. I can watch Jamie Oliver cook if I only look at the food & try to avoid his lips and hands.

Me? I’ve not listed anyone. I only mentioned Farage as someone else brought him up

I always imagine Jamie Oliver would accidentally spit in food - he makes me feel a bit nauseous for this reason

Some people just have very smackable faces i can't explain why but Donald Trump definitely has one.

Are you talking to me? Because I’m not the one saying people have annoying faces!

His is easy. He is a narcissistic cunt who has made the world a worse place in a plethora of ways.
Farage wants to do the same. He is very lizard like in real life. He twitches a lot.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 16/03/2026 23:36

Jim Carrey has a very irritating face imo.

BauhausOfEliott · 16/03/2026 23:38

Yes, I find some people’s faces intrinsically annoying.

I think there’s a difference between being annoyed by the face of someone you find repellent for other reasons (eg Farage) and being annoyed by the face of someone you actually can’t really come up any other reason to dislike. I experience both. Often if I’m annoyed by someone’s face they’re also a horrible person but other times I’ll just find someone’s face infuriating for absolutely no good reason.

I mean, it’s not a problem. I keep it to myself, obviously. I’m not going around telling them about it, or bashing them in the face with a cricket bat or anything.

It’s also got nothing to do with being ugly. Some objectively good-looking people have faces that really irk me.

It was me, I'm the arsehole-lister, and I can probably list more arseholes than you can shake a stick at. Arseholery and an annoying face just go hand in hand, let's face it. Look at David Walliams (if you can bear it) - I rest my case.

StormySpanielz · 16/03/2026 23:43

I meant ‘you’ plural. As in all the posters that are already listing people who are irritating arseholes irrespective of their faces which objectively may be fairly neutral, but through the symbolism of their owner’s personality evince arseholery.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 16/03/2026 23:46

Farage does have an annoying face, but I think it’s his annoying personality “shining” (not exactly) through. I don’t think his face would be annoying just on it’s own if he wasn’t smug and annoying as a person. Without his smug expressions it would be a common-or-garden face.

You’re not wrong about that, but I also always think Tony Blair looks like a caricature of Tony Blair

JohnTheRevelator · 17/03/2026 02:05

My late DM would regularly comment that someone on TV 'has got a funny mouth' (different people, not the same person every time). I never quite understood what she meant by it.
