I know its comic relief, and its for a good cause. But the constant 'oh youre so great, omg so incredible' is irritating and making my school run more difficult

😤😤😤

Radio 2 is irritating at the best of times. I suggest listening to a podcast of your choice instead

MsSquiz · 16/03/2026 09:07

Novel idea, change the station?

Maybe do your school run on a unicycle covered in baked beans so you can empathise more? Or switch station.

Is Greg on a unicycle covered in baked beans? 😄😄 why would I need to do that to be able to empathise? 😄

First thing in the morning? I can't focus that much in the morning

Plus I like to feel connected to the world 😅

Listen to something else! Problem solved.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 19/03/2026 08:48

Sorry I know that everyone's going to tell me to change the channel. But this is the worst thing in the world

If I had donated, I would want to undonate!

Just cycle Greg, we dont need your sob story and tears 🙄🙄

Yeah they over do it, the Sarah Cox thing did my head in - and I like her!

sinamordetrabajo · 19/03/2026 09:02

I agree

RoniaCheetah · 19/03/2026 09:07

Nope. I'm glued. Love Greg James - we listen to him every morning in our house so the kids are totally invested in this challenge. It's a huge challenge and I really feel for him being away from his family this week when his dad has just had a stroke and is in hospital

Thanks for sharing to the group 🙂

No you can - you are just choosing not to. There are lots and lots of radio stations out there from you to choose from. Just because you have listened to a particular station in the past does not mean you are tied to listening to it for the rest of your life.

its2025 · 19/03/2026 09:14

I love Radio One - and also am a fan of Gregg James - he absolutely helped keep me sane during Covid with his humour and living a lone the radio is a kind of company.

But even I get a bit irritated by the constant guilt trip laden updates on his tandem progress. I do switch stations during the day to mix it up a bit.

He's doing a good thing though - Comic relief raises a huge amount of money - it wouldn't be so successful without all the constant emotionally loaded challenges. Who can knock that Prince William even got involved??

BillStickersWillBeProsocuted · 19/03/2026 09:27

I listen to radio 2. I like the presenters and most of the music, but have to admin it has it's annoyances

As well as the charity guilt trips, there's the shoe horned in live performances, that are generally good the 1st time, but don't need to be heard every day for the following 3 weeks. And the fact it's currently about 40% country music after the C2C festival at the weekend

But I'll happily put up with all that rather than listen to radio adverts! (shudders)

I can't change it, I just can't!

This is it!

I tried switching over to capital when Jordan North went there but all of the ads put me off - radio 1 is just better 😄 - well usually, this nonsense aside

This is how I feel

Radio 1 has been there for me. I started listening whilst in hospital waiting to have dd - dd is almost 7!

Its just too much - I realise that greg is struggling with his dad, but they did it before with Jamie lang as well

Just tell jokes and cycle - we dont need the constant guilt trips from Matt Edmonson telling me to give up my morning coffee 🙄🙄 (I dont even drink coffee, but still irritated me 😄)

Its an amazing achievement though and I love that prince William has showed up.
