AIBU to worry a persistent spot under my nose could be BCC?

AIBU to think this looks like skin cancer and to be really worried?

I have had a weird enlarged pore type of spot just under my nose for about a year now. Initially it was what looked like just a blackhead that I kept on picking on. It never fully went away but me picking it didn’t help ( I know I am stupid). The spot was going from barely noticeable at once stage to drying out to and turning into a spot again. This pattern would happen again and again. I was now looking through the photons and it looks like something might be sinister. My mother has recently had a BCC removed from her face although herself looked different . Can it be that ? Of course I will be booking a GP appointment tomorrow but does it look like it could be BCC ? If so it has been on my face for just under a year I am worried I have left it so long .

Could be yeah but even if it is then it’s not a huge deal, they’ll just snip it out .

Ds had this in Greece last year. I saw GP after a few weeks as it hadn't gone and I was fobbed off! He still has it there now

It could be. It’s wise to get it checked out.
I would keep taking photos of it though and don’t pick at it.
Picking can cause a picker’s nodule (nodular purigo) which looks very similar to a small bcc.
Even if it is a bcc, they are easy to remove and it is very slow cancer that isn’t invasive until years and years later.
