Agreeing a time

There’s more to this, but to keep it brief:

Someone messaged me today and asked if they should pop over for a coffee and catch up. I said yes, that I had one or two things to do, and suggested a time two hours from when we were messaging. They sent a vague reply.

It’s now well over an hour from that suggested time and they haven’t appeared.

AIBU: chill out, your time was a suggestion and they don’t have to stick to that

YANBU: they should have said if that was too early

What was their reply?
You could have said. ‘2pm would be best, let me know if you can make it then or we may have to rearrange’

Some people are more relaxed about timings. I personally would need to know. I’d be like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for them to appear if they were vague!
Why not just send them a message asking if they still plan to come and, if so, what time, because you need to arrange some things if it’s going to be later?

What was the “vague reply”?

“there’s more to this”

Oh there always is 😂
