I work in care sector and often get calls for extra hours /shifts due to family commitments I cannot just drop and go in, I have a excellent attendance record but I'm getting messages and calls at stupid times of the day night, from personal phones and social media apps asking me to go in, I try but genuinely cannot just go in due to young children in family, I have now exit social media platforms and blocked personal numbers in a attempt to be left alone, and only allow calls direct from work am I been unreasonable? After all I'm entitled to days off and my privacy it feels like they own me and I cannot say no

You have boundaries in place and that's good. The only other thing you can do at this point is make those boundaries clear to the people who are trying to cross them. Do you work for an agency or a direct employer?

Who are these calls from personal phones and social media from? Are they from your employer/manager or other randoms? I would 100% only accept calls which you know to be from your employer. Otherwise how do you know you will get paid?

There is a shortage of care workers so its not like your going to get penalised for not being available for random calls. Your phone was on charge/in another room/out of power etc.

Senior staff usually and I work for a direct employer, it's fack it's stupid am times, there should be boundaries in and I thin use of personal phones shouldn't be allowed, use company phones, messenger Watts app etc Facebook should be private not as a way for a employer to contact you!

Your reply doesn't make any sense.

Do you mean that instead of your employer contacting you on a regulat work phone they use random private phones or social media? That sounds very unprofessional and I would not accept calls from other than an official number.
