Please recommend me anything and everything for kids colds

I am at my wits end.

We are on our 7th (!) cold/virus since November.

DD3 started preschool in January so don’t think this helps, DS is 6 months and has only been well for about 2 weeks out of every month he’s been born. He’s been hospitalised twice with RSV 2 months apart. He’s had 2 lots of antibiotics for lower lung infections, both of them have just got over another cold and conjunctivitis.

Both of them coughing, snotty, temperatures that are coming down with calpol & nurofen if needed but I’m bloody exhausted.

DD takes a kids multivitamin every day which says it boosts immune system.

It’s always DD that goes down first, then DS then DH and then I get the tail end of it.

Is there anything I can do at all? Any recommendations for machines/humidifiers or whatever for bedrooms to help them breathe when they’re laying down/stop coughing?

We’ve got the calpol Vapor plug ins, we’ve got children’s vix, we leave bedroom windows open slightly at night to let the fresh cold air in.

I’m sleep deprived and it’s actually starting to affect my mental health now.

Any recommendations would be greatly received! Thank you

Antihistamine may help with the cough

I second a humidifier for the coughs.
DS2 was v ill with RSV as an 8 week old (ventilated) and was left with a cough and asthma. He then got every virus under the sun that winter (and every following winter), which would always go straight to his chest.
His coughing would make him vomit. A humidifier in his room at night helped, also propping up his mattress so he slept on a bit of a slope (I bought textured baby sleeping bags to stop him sliding down!)
Its a slog and you have my sympathy.
DS2 is 20 now but I remember that winter vividly!

Put vix on the soles of the feet then socks on over night.
Start as soon as you think a cold is coming

Vaseline for around nostrils, stops them getting sore from runny noses/blowing noses.

Unless it's an excellent multi like mighty kids then it probably isn't doing anything.

We do:
Liposomal Vitamin C
Liposomal Vitamin D
Zinc
Elderberry through the winter
Magnesium every night (great for respiratory health)

My kids don't get sick often and when they do they bounce back quick. Could be a coincidence of course!

They are all drops or liquids so easy to take.

The vapour plug ins are so toxic I wouldn't use them, a standard humidifier works really well though.
