If people were in when we tried to deliver we wouldn't need to.

A female postie.

Yeah, because we're mind readers who know exactly what date and time you're gonna show up. Get a reality check. Oh and next time your employer emails me that a delivery is out for delivery that day, please actually deliver it that day when I've waited in all day long for it, and not the next fucking day instead.

What?

You think your neighbours are wanking over your Amazon delivery?

Oh, bro. Sit down, take a deep fortifying breath, and google Epstein.

NotMeAtAll · 13/03/2026 23:57

My postie and couriers usually leave stuff in my recycling bin if I'm not home. I hope they never deliver to my packages to my neighbours from Hell. Amazon sometimes leave packages outside my front door. I live in a city and luckily nothing has been stolen (yet).

It costs a fortune to keep redelivering each time. If no safe place is specified we try the neighbours.

If you know you're going to be getting a parcel surely it's not hard to specify what delivery options you want / choose a safe place.

TakeTheCuntingQuichePatricia · 14/03/2026 00:05

I wish all the delivery companies would leave my parcels with my neighbour as requested if I'm not in. I'm sick of them being stolen from my doorstep.

Buy a big delivery box, screw it to your wall … happy days

My mum got one of those. The postman never uses it.
Hopeless!

You sound insufferable and I bet all your neighbours hate you.
(Really hoping this was satire/sarcasm - but it can be so hard to tell online)

I agree with you! I. Really hope Bernad is joking!

You confiscate deliveries you disapprove of and you gossip online about people who don't open their curtains early enough?

Friendlygingercat · 14/03/2026 00:13

I was expecting a parcel from Royal Mail on wednesday but the driver lied and said no one was in. CCTV on both sides of my house and no sign of a delivery van at that time. Reordered delivery for friday. Package arrived thrsday at 8pm! Go figure. Left a thumbs down revue.

saraclara · 14/03/2026 00:15

Czerwonitz · 13/03/2026 22:45

My safe place is my front step. Some delivery people ignore this. I think it should be a criminal offence to deliver private correspondence to the wrong address without explicit instruments to do so.

As it is I've had to resort to a thumbs down review

Your front step isn't considered a safe place, by the Royal Mail. That's because it isn't a safe place. Do you have a garage, or it a rear garden, or somewhere else where the parcel isn't visible? I've had my rear garden registered as my safe place for years, so that's where my parcels end up.

Their site also allows you to select a neighbour to take it in/say NOT NUMBER 24.

I'm feeling that you've not really tried.

Hahaha this is so funny.

'Head of Neighbourhood Watch', keeping an eye on neighbours, confiscating post, ensuring mail is ready for neighbours (?) making sure curtains are open, bins are put out in a correct and ordering manner..... Well what a laugh this is.

marmaladejam1 · 14/03/2026 00:20

I presume the pp was joking but whats the deal with opening the curtains. I never open my front curtains ( they are actually blinds)

Friendlygingercat · 14/03/2026 00:22

My curtains are blinds too. I dont want randoms staring into my house and deciding what to steal.

lilybit2025 · 14/03/2026 00:23

Can't believe people are complaining about this. If they left it on the front door step you'd be equally as peed off, it's better to leave with a neighbour than for someone to rob it in daylight. My entire estate take parcels in for each other, it's never even crossed my mind to be pissed off with a delivery driver for doing so.

Why do you think you have the right to confiscate people's deliveries that don't meet your standards? You understand this is theft yes?

Also you do realise tampering (i.e opening) deliveries is illegal if they aren't for you?

So you've confessed to two potential crimes - maybe you'd better step down from heading the Neighbourhood Watch.

I don't appreciate parcels being left in front of my door, in full view of anyone passing by. I don't consider it a safe space. And Amazon just drop it there and ring door bell, not waiting to see if anyone answers! I always text back to say it has not been securely delivered and I don't accept responsibility for the parcel. My postman and other couriers always use either my recycling bin or drop to neighbours if it needs to be signed for. I have lovely neighbours, they all accept my parcels if in, as I accept theirs. I work from home three days a week, I'm happy to take in a parcel or two.

Yeah. They hate you. Guaranteed. 😂
Anyway, what are you doing up so late? Gotta get those Zs in so you can be up bright and early for the spying. It's downright decadent to be up past midnight.

Nipnap · 14/03/2026 00:38

It dont bother me at all, i take some parcels in and give them to the neighbour when they come ask for them.
They have done it for me it dont happen all the time maybe every few months.
Lifes to short and the world is full of drama to worry over a parcel coming to my door for the neighbour.

What about night staff? Are they allowed their curtains closed during the day? Or when it's really hot and that's actually recommend to keep the house cool?

Not that you're being serious of course.
