Chefs that dont scrape the bowl out on the telly?

They're wrong 'uns aren't they?

I spend a lot of time scraping every ounce of stuff out of my bowl or pan, I dont waste a scrap

I cant stand it when they're pouring something into the baking tray or cake tin or whatever and half it is still left in the bowl

Rick Stein did it last night on a programme I was watching. Infuriating.

All that mixture will go in the bin anyway because they have the ready prepared one ready to spring out of the oven!

I mean, how do I get a job on one of these shows for all the free food and bowl licking!!

This is, in fact, the most important question of all!

When Ed Byrne did bake off, not only did he wear a jacket but he also didn't push his bloody sleeves up!! God knows how many years ago it was but the fear of his sleeve dangling in cake batter still haunts my dreams.

Oh and hair, no one ties their hair up

I also have a cooking rule that I tie my hair up and wear a black top so that I can see if my hair is stuck to my top and might fall in my batter.

Im going to add that to my list of complaints about telly chefs

DGMused to complain about that in the 70s/80s cookery shows. I can still see her expression and her mutters of 'wasteful' 😀

Licking the bowl is the best bit of cakes.
I am frequently guilty of leaving rather too much mixture in the bowl deliberately to enjoy whilst the actual cake is baking but doubt that happens on Masterchef!

My DH hovers about the kitchen when I pour cake batter into the tin. He really likes to "clean" the mixing bowl. 😋
