The amount of people that don’t get the concept of AIBU… or MN in general

A bit of a lighthearted one but also annoys me sometimes.

I don’t understand why some people can’t grasp that AIBU is basically asking for opinions and some will agree and some will disagree.

Or any of the other topics, posters are asking for opinions and when you give it and someone comments back being all sarky or disliking your opinion.

That is literally what the poster is asking for, hence the whole concept of MN.

Don’t even get me started on OP’s who ask if they are unreasonable and get rude to people that say they are…

I agree , lots of people post on aibu just because it tends to get more traffic but I find it annoying when there isn't a actual question been posted .
Like has anybody been to xxx what's it like .

Also a minor gripe when people write 'recommend me a book/ dress/ holiday '
No , I can recommend a book / dress / holiday though.
The me is not needed* *in that sentence.
I think I need to go to pedants corner .

What is your AIBU? 👀

LemonAir · 10/03/2026 14:55

YABU.

People don’t have to meekly accept everyone’s opinion without arguing back just because they solicited opinions in the first place.

Your type of post (where you have just given an opinion and not asked a question) is much more annoying.

Your heading doesn't make sense as an AIBU. Perhaps you don't understand the forum and need some guidelines?
