To report vulnerable TikTokker for safeguarding reasons

MonkeyNuuts82 · 06/03/2026 15:59

Have NC just for this post. My DD was looking at TikTok on my phone this week and we came across a woman who seems to post lots of videos of her eating junk food. She seems very very vulnerable, dirty clothes, hair, eats very messily and picks nose etc but oblivious to it. As a SEN parent I can see very definite visible signs of learning disability, and some of her videos about past activity show that she is easily scammed: We can see she gives money via gifts to other TikTokkers that she calls her friends. It’s not rage bait. I don’t think this person is capable of that. But I am worried about them.

I thought the same about someone I came across before that was vulnerable and seemed to be getting exploited to give others gifts. I’m not sure who you would report it to thou. I tried to TikTok by got no where.

Itsmetheflamingo · 06/03/2026 16:04

TikTok is full of this and some talk openly about how frequently they’re reportedly social services. So you’re probably not the only one concerned

you’d have to know her name and where she lives though, how else could you report it?

I'm not sure how you could report unless you knew her full name and location but yes I'd want to try and report how vulnerable she is.

Damnd · 06/03/2026 16:18

Are you sure you're not being fooled.. it is lucrative

NortieTortie · 06/03/2026 16:19

Is it Amber? She gets reported fairly often

Both name and location easily discoverable, they actually have their location pinned to their posts.

Please if any of you guess who it is - don’t say their name here.

I was wondering this, too. If so, I think she's been reported again and said she'd accepted some social services involvement.

The locations pinned to posts aren’t accurate, but also they’re general- you need to know more than say amber from ribble valley.

but if you do know all that data surely it’s obvious you email social services?

Very sure, there’s an abundance of material - this person has been scammed on a major scale in a celebrity romance scam and is sending hundreds of pounds of her money to her online ‘friends’ every day. Her family are worried too.

Yes, I think I kind of have to. I’m not a mandated reporter now but I was for a number of years and I can’t ignore all the red flags I’ve been trained to detect and report.

I’m not going to confirm any names guys

It’s quite clearly Amber. She has a mother and a brother, reporting her will achieve nothing as she lives with family. She denies she has SEN

TheMorgenmuffel · 06/03/2026 16:46

There is a woman i have read about on reddit who is on tiktok. She believes she is in a relationship with one of those "influencer' people. She's very vulnerable and by all accounts her 'followers' egg her on just to laugh at her.
I do think platforms have a moral duty to the vulnerable.

Zanatdy · 06/03/2026 16:47

I know who it is. She is reported a lot.

I think they do too, but clearly they don’t! It makes me worry so much because this is probably widespread and doesn’t just affect this one person.

I’m not going to be confirming any names or locations, because the point of this post is safeguarding - throwing names and places into the hat is potentially tossing more wood on the fire. I just wanted a sounding board to check my natural instinct to report.

This is good to hear, if we are thinking of the same person, or any person in this situation really. Hopefully somebody will make the move to help her.

Yes it will be. I'm not sure why the OP has asked us not to name her though. Amber very much put's herself out there and is open about the authorities contacting her for welfare checks etc.

Blackeyedcat · 06/03/2026 16:53

Yes I had seen her all the time on TikTok . Buying Chanel perfume collections and eating takeaway every day because she finds all sort of excuses as why she can’t cook , like the kitchen is too cold , or her Mum is dizzy so she can’t cook for her . These are her genuine reasons I’m not making it up .

You don't need to.
I'm not sure what harm could be done by naming her though.

Anonanonanonagain · 06/03/2026 16:53

If you already know her family are concerned and are involved what do you think you as a stranger can do?

Edited

She did a video recently on social services contacting her and was complaining about it.

monicagellerbing · 06/03/2026 17:01

She’s on live now and has said she has a support worker now. Leave her alone ffs

MonkeyNuuts82 · 06/03/2026 17:03

I think I’ll make a report, if they were a service user at my previous place of work I would have to. It isn’t through malice at all, somebody is telling me to leave a TikTokker alone, it’s from being trained to spot certain things.
