Standing up to a co-worker in the office

Went into the office today and before I’d even sat down, a co-worker started having a go at me because I challenged a procedure that they were doing unfairly. We ended up having a heated discussion in front of everyone. I know what I was standing up for was right but it then made a horrible atmosphere all day.

Co-worker never apologised, even when they knew I was right deep down, some hours later.

AIBU - Just let it go. They were clearly having a bad day.
YANBU - I was right to stand up for myself. Why do some people have to be so rude and argumentative?!

She probably believes what she is standing for is right too. You need to move on, unless a line was crossed and she was verbally abusive but you say heated discussion so it sounds like you gave as good as you got.

Tape their mobile phone under their chair a keep ringing it. They will go doolally

Heated discussions aren’t really appropriate for the office. I’d let it go and move on for everyone’s sakes.
