To think we'd be at war now if Reform were in power?

I had this discussion with a friend. They said no it wouldn't be the case. Nige isn't that much in Trump's pocket. I said yes I think he is and we would be.
I'm pretty neutral politically. Like a lot I've become pretty disillusioned.
Apologies if there's already a similar thread.

We would be in civil war

Impossible to say. Maybe Farage would have had a private quarrel with Musk or Trump - I can’t quite see how 2 egos of that size in a room would work - and we’d be at war with America. Or all women’s rights to abortion would have been wiped out and we’d have unrest on our hands. Or Farage could have just handed all day to day running in v over to civil servants and gone prancing the light fantastic in America, golfing with Trump laughing at all of us working and taking credit for anything good happening.

Thats the thing with these people. They have no buy-in to the system any more than the poorest, in their case because they only need it to stoke their egos, not for any economic reason. So it’s difficult to say what they’ll do as it depends on whim of the moment.

I think we are at war anyway.

Yes, we would. Have no doubt.

Maybe but it's not much of a war. More like bombing stuff with minimal resistance. Not much more that we could do than that anyway. We can't even rustle up a single ship to protect Cyprus. Petty shameful when you think about it.

Yes it's disgraceful. Our military is so underfunded. Hopefully the government will wake up. They're always blaming each other though.

Nigel Farage really does live rent free in the far left’s heads.

They are obsessed. Forget the fact that the country is a dumpster fire now and let, first the Tories, and now Labour trash it. But have sleepless nights of Farage. Strange people with wierd minds.

AfternoonTeaPotDictator · 04/03/2026 19:19

Yes we would. But it’s not Trump’s pocket Farage is in.

SundayBells · 04/03/2026 19:46

Farage wants British troops to fight and die for a man who claimed our troops did not fight and die alongside Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Correct . In 2015 Farage said ' We don't need advice on foreign policy from an American President. Last time that happened it was called the Iraq War '

But ...since he has no principles that statement is null and void. Because now Trump is the Potus and Nigel thinks Donald loves him.
