I know this sounds a bit odd but i cant seem to get anything done if i have something coming up later in the day like an appointment or a task i need to do.my brain just locks in on that and i end up wasting time until its time to go or start.its like i cant focus on anything else because i am too busy stressing about the next thing.is this a normal thing or am i just being silly? feels like its messing with my whole routine

I'm also like this. I've found giving myself a set task to get into before the appointment/time I need to do the task can be helpful. E.g I'm going to clear all my flagged emails before my appointment at 10.30. other times I end up bumbling around from small job to small job not being productive at all then I get frustrated with myself because I've got used my time wisely and I feel 'behind'.

A very common adhd trait

This sounds like ADHD "waiting mode".

DS22 with ADHD really struggles with this and I do to a lesser extent. The more anxiety provoking the thing I'm waiting for is, the harder I find it to do anything else beforehand.

I'm like this. Nothing to do with neuro diversity.
