I wondered how long it would be til someone posted the predictable and tedious “YABU to link to GBN/Daily Mail/Daily Express/Sun etc.”. Just because it’s on these sources doesn’t make it any less “news”.

I have family in Cyprus and my cousin works for Cyprus Airways. Other relatives live near Akrotiri, and my bf is moving back there this week, so yes, I'm interested in this post. I'm getting quite worried.

I didn’t see the other thread, and I have a holiday booked to Cyprus in April. I am therefore very interested in this news!

Im getting all my news on this one issue from Al Jazeera, they are literally there reporting live! The BBC and others are doing good explainers, but for as it happens Al Jazeera all the way

Exactly. It's incredibly narrow minded to dismiss other news sources but your preferred one/ones. To get a balanced view you need to scan them all and see all the angles. It does make you look at your trusted one a bit differently too and questiin their bias.

I found it interesting @Ihatetomatoes. Even if I’m the only one! I’ve just seen the news about the air strikes against the military base and was wondering about the likely impact of that. I haven’t seen any of the previous Cyprus threads.

Thanks to Keir Starmer allowing the US to use our air bases there. He says it’s ‘defensive strikes’ only - but a strike is a strike and it is offensive especially in this illegal war.
