To feel guilty about going on holiday to Jordan/Mount Sinai

I’m due to fly to Jordan on 28th March for 8 days and then on to Mount Sinai and Dahab for 4 days. I’m really looking forward to seeing Petra, Wadi Rum the Dead Sea as well as climbing Mount Sinai and snorkelling in the Red Sea.
Obviously I will be following government advice on whether or not it is safe to go so that’s not really my question. It’s more that I feel funny about going on holiday to somewhere where it must be very emotive and scary for those living there. It feels somehow voyeuristic.
Is this just me being silly and overthinking it?

On a side note 'Stars Valley Camp' in Wadi Rum was amazing. Would highly recomment them. Super comfy and reasonably priced accomodation and can directly book jeep tour and camel ride with them. Half day afternoon arrival jeep tour best option and overnight camp. We were actually the only ones in the camp when we stayed. Amazing place!

@Friendlygingercat did you say your niece and her wife are happy in UAE? I was under the impression that was a bit risky. I’d be pleased to discover otherwise…

And @Twodogsonthecouch as a side note, we should all be checking our insurance for exclusions. Apparently it isn’t as comprehensive as we assume and the current situation could quite likely leave us exposed.

Would it matter if you didn't get home work wise, some jobs it would be particularly bad if you didn't but of course you might be retired or in the kind of work that doesn't matter with this.

No definitely not retired self employed and partner in the practice so theoretically no one to fire me 🤯. Would not be able to work remotely though
