Ex’s conviction

I found out by chance that my ex is now a convicted pedo, we share a child, whom he has no contact with. Should we have been made aware of this in case he tries to make contact sometime in the future?

When you say should you have been made aware of this, who do you think should have made you aware? People who knew him?

You don't need to do anything but if he tries to make contact you can refuse on the basis of his conviction. If he tried to issue court proceedings, checks on the police national computer would be carried out evidence of his conviction would be disclosed, so I highly doubt he would be successful.

I agree social services or the police should have been in contact. He must not have disclosed he has a child.

This is exactly why Tony’s law is being made. Tony Hudgell is a behind a child safety register.
