Aggressive neighbour over bin?

hotflix · 01/03/2026 20:19

I left my bin out and the wind must of made the lid open and rubbish was flown across my neighbours driveway.

It was a pizza box.

Her mother (who dosent live here) came quite aggressively to my bin to put the blown away rubbish back in my bin. She was also shouting in Polish.

I find this quite aggressive and rude.
As soon as I was made aware I picked up all the rubbish, it's not something I did on purpose.

I am a bit shocked at my neighbour as I took in her parcel a few weeks ago.

AIBU to feel annoyed by the shouting in Polish towards me?

My neighbours bin blew over last week and some of her rubbish was in my drive. I just picked her bin up, put the rubbish back and tried to put it a bit out of the wind. That seems normal to me. Just ignore her.

@TheignT - she was just so aggressive and shouting in Polish.

My other neighbour who also got rubbish on her drive just picked it up and put it in her own bin as she said the bins were being done anyway.

It just seems abit of an OTT reaction.

i’d be asking the woman whats up with her mother that she thinks it’s ok to shout at someone because the wind blew the bin contents out.

grumpygrape · 01/03/2026 20:56

Would it have been OK if she shouted in Spanish ?

Your neighbour didn't make a fuss about it. Your neigbour's visiting mother did.

Your neighbour isn't responsible for what comes out of her mother's mouth.

She sounds too old to give a fuck, don't take it personally

Windy dustbin trauma once happened to me,OP,so I sympathise -very windy night, everyone's bin blew over,a neighbour complained to everyone so another neighbour decided to attach every bin to my house (with metal rods) whilst I was out celebrating a big birthday.
I read him the riot act.
He himself,then moved to Poland.

Sorry if above doesn't make sense- should read " he crapped himself" or similar, but MN has censored me🤣
