Migraine triggered by cigarette smoke ?

I was never really a headache person until my first pregnancy
now in perimenopause I have them fairly often
last two have been triggered by visits to a relatives house who smokes
I literally get home and throw up.
Anyone else?

Yes. It’s a trigger for me.

Headaches and vomiting are a well known reaction to second hand cigarette smoke.
I'm allergic to nicotine and people smoking causes me real problems.

Smokers think it’s there right to smoke. Fair enough, but they smell rancid, toxic, and oddly enough they do seem to have “issues”.

I can always tell a smoker they make me want to heave and my head hurts.

My sinuses used to swell up whenever I was around cigarette smoke

One of the worst migraines I had was when pregnant and went to a comedy club before the smoking ban.

I can imagine it could do. Cigarette smoke is gross. And I say that as a smoker who suffers migraines.

Do they smoke indoors in front of you when you go to their house? I'd hope they'd at least try and smoke out of a window if they knew about your condition.

they dont know and its sensitive I guess. The headaches are new and so they don’t know.

Yes I occasionally get migraines (not very often fortunately) and recently I got one due to sitting at work for 10 min with a heavy smoker. Gave me a terrible headache all day although fortunately not a full blown migraine..I am very rarely exposed to people who are heavy smokers, so maybe now when I am, it causes problems. Also I'm increasingly sensitive to artificial scents like air fresheners.

It could be coincidence because smells can take on a life of their own. I used had a candle once that triggered a migraine and whenever I smelt it after that (even in the shop!) it would trigger one.

i sort of used to get this with the shop lush too
