Just a rant about this week...

DP's work colleagues are visiting this week from the States. He has been asked to stay late every day this week for team nights out or project work etc.

He has been getting in anywhere between 9-10:30pm and its starting to bug me now.

He said he was going to say he cant stay tomorrow, but is now apparently going.

ASD child at home who becomes really disregulated and hard to settle if bedtime routine isnt the same (e.g. he cant say goodnight to DP), no help at all with chores around the house, dog isnt getting walked in the evenings because there isnt time, so a hyper dog running about the house, also feeding, playing with his cats and cleaning litter trays.

I work full time as well and doing absolutely everything this week, and I am exhausted... Fell into bed last night with DS and fell asleep beside him!

I was looking forward to getting some reprieve tomorrow, but that isnt happening now.

I know its only one week, and yes I know I need to suck it up, but my god, I cant wait for this week to be over.

Well tell him next week you are doing sweet FA after work while he takes the reins... And mean it.

Yup I feel your pain and I’ve been on all sides of this. Partner away for a week and I have to do everything. Partner here but with colleagues over and I’ve had to do everything. And also my colleagues over and I’ve had to spend all week in the office and evenings out and partner has to pick up everything.

exhausting all ways if you do t have a big support network… or even if you do to be fair.

sympathies but such is life when you both have careers too rather than jobs.

100%, roll on retirement age.. If we even get one at this rate!
