Planning a wedding abroad just us and our children

We are considering getting married abroad, just us and our children. We have been together a long time and our families think it'll be a lovely idea too. We think possibly next summer in Cyprus or Greece but definitely open to ideas. We want a beautiful beach ceremony and for it to be fully legal and not to need to marry in the UK before or after. Any tips or advice on wedding planners and how to go about it would be great. I have already contacted a few places online this afternoon. I'd love to hear from other people who have been married abroad or who are planning a wedding abroad at the moment.

We got married in Cyprus in 2016, us our 2 young children. We did have guests but would of happily gone just us 4.
We stayed in the hotel we got married just paid for the whole package here then met with the wedding planner over there.
We booked everything through co-op travel and they sorted everything. Totally stress free.
I've been married before, a church wedding and it was very stressful.
A holiday and wedding all rolled into one

Pick the hotel you want to stay in & contact them to book your wedding. They have in-house wedding planners who will help you. I know in Cyprus, you will have to send off various documents to be verified before you arrive. I know of one planner, Complete Weddings, who was very helpful when we booked our wedding (but we had to cancel & marry in the UK due to medical reasons). Hope you have a special day, wherever you decide to marry x

We got married in Kenya. With immediate family though, so about 18 people including us. It was great and we had a big party when we got back - best of both worlds.

We married in Greece because DH wanted to get married on the beach and apparently you can’t do that in Cyprus. We went into the travel agents and picked it then and there. There’s a website where you can see which hotels have available dates which the travel agent got up for us and booked it straight away. Everything was included in our package so no extra translation costs but I think that was through the hotel. I think some places would need documents translating before you send them. They sent us a list of things you could pick before we went out. The bouquet and buttonholes were included but there were a few different ones you could choose from, they asked what our colour scheme was so they could coordinate everything, asked if we needed extra champagne as one bottle was included, cake flavour etc. Tui has their own wedding planner who dealt with everything, some before we went but a lot while we were out there.
It was back in 2023 and cost us £4k for 4 of us (£2.5k for the 10 night holiday and £1.5k for the wedding package). The photographer was extra but we got some gorgeous sunset pics.
