To feel hurt when a close friend just disappears without explanation?

We used to spend every weekend together, holidays too. Then one day she just stopped returning my calls. I keep thinking if I did something wrong, I would have wanted the chance to apologise or at least understand what happened.

AIBU to feel like long friendships deserve a conversation, even if it’s uncomfortable?

How long has it been since you heard from them? Are you actually "blocked" ? Is it possible something unrelated to you has happened in their life that has distracted them?

But taking what you say on face value you truly have my sympathy. I've been on the end of a "slow fade" from a once "best" friend and it is indeed hurtful 💐

I agree. It’s extremely hurtful to be treated like that.

Very hurtful. Has she got a new partner by any chance?

Obviously it's hurtful to be blanked by a long term friend. It may be that there's stuff going on in her life that she is struggling with and she is just withdrawing from life in general to cope. I would send a message saying I hope you're ok and will get in touch if you need anything and leave it at that.
